Explorer

Explorer Scholars are:

• In the 7th, 8th or 9th grade
• Unsure on a career or
• Have a general idea of their interests that are in Education. Healthcare, Business, Criminal Justice, Technical or Vocational Trade.

What can I expect in the Explorer Phase of the Program?
When enrolled into the program as Explorers, each scholar will have an opportunity to explore their options. During Middle School, it is all about getting prepared to transition to High School by connecting them and getting them familiar with extracurricular activities/clubs, their counselor, and school campus. Freshman year is focused on kickstarting the development of their pathway plan. Components of their pathway plan may include:

1. Discovering courses related to their career interests, extracurricular activities, and matching skills 
   
2. Accommodations for Supplemental Support
   
3. Working with a mentor/coach or  counselor to learn about best strategies for time management, study skills, etc.
   
4. Developing a support team that is familiar with the pathway plan
